For 2010 Active Away is offering Adult holidays and family holidays which have been designed for players of all levels - Beginner to advanced. You can travel as either a group OR as an individual further facilitating your own holiday. Now you have the opportunity to play and socialise with likeminded people from all over the UK allowing you to build long lasting friendships and at the same time improve your game.
About
Active Away's tennis holidays are organised and lead by Steve Davies. Steve has coached tennis for over 18 years working with players from beginner to national levels. As for playing he still competes regularly for his local club DLL Derby and is currently ranked No5 in GB for the over 35's. He has extensive experience organising tennis holidays all over the world, he has selected a team of David Lloyd's finest coaches to help him deliver the coaching program during these weeks.
The resort
David Lloyd has chosen Active Away's flagship resort the Aldemar Royal Mare Village in Crete. This 5* Hotel is located 5mins outside Herssonisos and is only 30mins transfer from Heraklion airport. It prides itself on its wonderful hospitality and Cretan cuisine. Boasting impressive facilities including a fantastic tennis club with 7 championship Clay courts and a beautiful club house with spectacular views, a further 4 sand filled artificial courts, 29 swimming pools and a World Leading Thalasso & Spa it has more than any tennis enthusiast could wish for.

Social Activities
Active Away organise a social program including two optional evening meals at fantastic local restaurants, social nights and drinks at the cocktail bar Golden Dreams.
For those of you wanting to let your hair down and have a dance we arrange nights out to Hersonissos - a lively resort only 5mins taxi journey away with many bars where you can dance the night away not forgetting to save some energy for tennis the following day!
On your free tennis days we offer an optional day trip with a choice of visiting the Island of Spinalonga or the archaeological site of Knossos Minoan Palace. For families we offer trips to the fantastic waterparks nearby.
The Tennis Package
All the adult holidays include a 20 hour tennis package which consists of 2hrs morning group coaching sessions followed by fruit in the club house and 2 hours organised matchplay sessions in the afternoons for 5 of the days.
Also included is an end of week Champagne tournament followed by a pro's exhibition match for those of you keen to watch some action. For those of you still wishing to play extra tennis we have arranged for unlimited free use of the artificial grass courts and a discounted rate for the clay courts.
All the family holidays include am coaching sessions for both juniors and adults leaving the afternoons for organised social play or multi activities the choice is yours.
