I am not often short of words, but I struggle to say how impressed we were with our tennis holiday. We absolutely loved it - Jeremy too - and I can’t say how excited I am about tennis now! It’s raining as I write this, but I am going over and over in my head the things you said and I can’t wait to get out onto a court to reinforce them. Thank you so very much for your enormous enthusiasm, your brilliant coaching, and the atmosphere that you have created within your own team so that they all add up to an unbeatable deal. We shall definitely be back, but I shall have to make it to Derbyshire before that if you can face it, because I can’t wait till next year for the next session.

Last year’s hosted week was great but this year the whole week had more structure, the training sessions were well crafted and executed. You have a great set of coaches to assist you and the end of the week tournament is also ways fun. I hope to be able to attend further hosted weeks in the future.

Having never played tennis on clay or been on this type of holiday before I was apprehensive arriving in Crete. However, I was instantly put at ease by the coaching team and that set the tone for the rest of the week. The balance between technical coaching and social tennis was spot on and I have come away with lots to think about to improve my game as well as great memories. I will definitely be back next year!

I have to say, how much Netty and Hans enjoyed our holiday, rubbing Netty's sore and aching muscles (twice a day!).
My highlight was playing against the coaches and county players - tell Marek he is ok playing doubles! We did ok.
I have had great feedback from my friends and are all hooked and wish to return as they were very pleased with the friendly reception given by all the coach. Credit goes them.
As for Netty and I, we would like to experience a change to another resort which I hope you will put pen to paper soon and bring more friends.
I'm sure our club will be in touch with you regarding the Roadshow.

I wasn't sure what to expect of my first tennis holiday in the sun, especially as I was travelling alone. But from the moment Steve met us at the airport I knew we were in good hands. The hotel exceeded my expectations but most impressive was the club house setting....the view from the terrace overlooking the courts and the sea was to die for. We met the very experienced coaching team who we quickly found to be great fun both on and off the court!! Steve put together a perfectly balanced programme, there was more than enough coaching and free tennis each day leaving just enough sunbathing time. We met for dinner each evening with lots of laughs in the bar to follow. Two organised meals out were a great Greek experience and the boat trip to Spinalonga was enjoyed by all that went, I chose a relaxing day in the spa and walk to the beach. I enjoyed every moment of the holiday and it met my needs completely, I met some lovely people who have become friends. We are all planning a return trip to Crete next year, need I say more.......

What I did not get chance to tell you as it would have appeared to have been bragging was that I gave old Joe a whooping on the Saturday 6-0 6-2. First time ever I have beaten him so it must either be down to the clay or you guys building my confidence up. Need to make sure I don’t play him for a while as he will be after blood !!

The tennis facilities are great, the staff very helpful and pleasant, but above all there is a lot of "experience" within the facilities on offer to the clients.
Our hotel room, food, service, and the toys i.e. swimming pool, table tennis, shops, tours etc, all make the experience very worthwhile.

I attended the Active Away Tennis week (11-18 May 2010) with 10 others from Blackheath Lawn Tennis Club. I thoroughly enjoyed it and found Steve and all the other coaches very professional and knowledgeable. We all arrived after our flight from Manchester at about 12am bit tired from a long day of travel, to be welcomed by the smiley face of Steve who was to be our coach and holiday organiser.
After a short journey by coach to the Hotel Resort in Knossos, we were speedily booked in and swept to our rooms by Golf Buggy.
The Rooms in the Knossos Hotel are very clean, spacious and equipped with all our needs. in character with the Resort, very spacious and ours (a double room) was situated on the ground floor.
After a restful sleep, we had a lovely buffet breakfast in the hotel main restaurant and then a short walk along the beach to the Tennis Courts. After a brief chat with Steve we were organised into groups for our tennis coaching.
After 2 hours of clay tennis which was fun and very informative, although the clay took a bit of getting used to!!!
We again walked back via the beach to our hotel for lunch. The hotel itself is situated on the beach, with beautiful kept gardens and the pool areas had plenty of umbrellas and loungers. Many eating and bar areas can be found, however as it is still early in the season a few had not opened yet.
The food in the main restaurant was very good, with many choices in hot and cold variety. The service of the hotel was excellent the staff very eager to help. Also by bonus a car was available to take many of the party up to the tennis courts if needed.
Each evening the hotel open air bar had live entertainment so dancing was in order most evenings, followed by a short walk or ride to the local taverna owned by Stavros, who welcomed all guests of the tennis club.
The tennis progressed each day with different tactics and strategies for playing a match, although it was very windy some days it did not dampen our spirits to play on. Each afternoon optional doubles was available, however I only managed one, as the wind defeated me.
Volley ball was great fun on the beach and our competitive tennis characters came out to play also, even though we laughed more than looked professional.
At the end of the week Steve staged a champagne tournament for all our group, which was well organised and the champagne flowed, followed by a Gala Dinner in the the lovely restaurant by the beach.
This is a truly wonderful tennis holiday, and some of the party who could not play the tennis for one reason or another, still enjoyed the hotel facilities and the camaraderie of the group.
The day of departure unfortunately our flight was cancelled when we arrived at the airport. Steve swung into action immediately returned us all to the hotel, sorted 2 rooms for ladies and gents and arranged for our all inclusive bands to be reinstated and we then enjoyed a leisurely day on the beach. After being fed and watered in the evening we returned to the Airport and flew home on the later flight.
All in all Steve and his colleagues did a great job organising the whole holiday and made it a memorable time we will never forget.

At the beginning of the week I was nervous not having played tennis for over a year, but I felt encouraged by all of you. At the end of the week I had improved, and more importantly left wanting to keep up the improvement by continuing to play at home. I cannot thank you and your team of fantastic tennis coaches enough. I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to experience coaching of such high quality.

The all inclusive deal at the Knossos Royal village worked really well, so much so that we’re coming back for another holiday with the family in the summer. The coaching programme was particularly well structured this time; we just need to put it into practice now!

I booked the Active Away holiday really not knowing what to expect. I went on my own and it was a great relief to find lots of others who had come alone too. Soon met some lovely people, and I am sure made some lifelong friends. The accommodation and facilities were superb and food was delicious. Tennis coaching was excellent and tennis coaches were all great fun. Steve organised the week well and went out of his way to make sure everyone was enjoying themselves. I will definitely go again.

I want to thank you and your team for a great week.
This was the first time I had been on this type of tennis holiday and so I was unsure what to expect. But your team immediately made everyone feel at ease (at times going out of their way to do so.) The resort was amazing & the tennis facilities superb. The tennis program was very well put together and offered a great variety of drills/match play to suit all standards. I particularly enjoyed the Champagne tournament and Exhibition Matches. We also had plenty of time to explore the rest of the fantastic facilities within the hotel complex and local area. Despite being in a large group, it never felt that way. It was particularly nice that the coaching staff were always on hand and even socialised with us in the evenings. The wide choice of meals in the restaurant was completely unexpected and most welcome.
Given the uncertainty of the flight situation immediately before our holiday, I would like to add a thank you to you personally for pre-empting our concerns with frequent updates on the situation.
I would definitely book another holiday with Active Away in the future, and having told many more members of our tennis club about the holiday since our return, we have several more people interested in joining us for the next trip.

I came along to improve my tennis and ending up having one of my best ever holidays.
I though the coaching was great, was at the right level for me, and was delivered by knowledgeable and enthusiastic people, and the social side was just great. I guess I could have done with being pushed more during the afternoon match play sometimes, but that really depends on who else is on the holiday.
I will definitely return next April and I will recommend the holiday to my tennis friends in Oxfordshire.
