Rome’s nightlife starts late…
It is not unusual for locals to meet up for dinner around 9. 30 or even 10. Rome is unique when it comes to nightlife and entertainment. It is different from any other capital in the world, yes there are surely loads of bars, pubs & clubs spread all over the city but the best way to enjoy the culture, vibe and spirit of the city is outdoor.
As the weather is mild here for most part of the year, every square turns often into a big outdoor bar. The locals love their evening ”passeggiata” (slow walk through the old town), strolling around the cobble stoned streets, sipping a beer while chatting with friends

Just returned from my first Active Away holiday in Greece, what an outstanding experience, the coaches couldn't do... enough for us. It was very well organised with the coaching drills improving my game throughout the week along with the doubles match play. The social time spent with the coaches / players made this such an enjoyable experience, already looking to book our next trip away with them, cannot wait!read more
Just back from the first Covid 19 Tennis holiday at Daphnila in Corfu. It’s hard to say too much about the... professional, friendly dedicated approach of these guys to making your tennis focused holiday a fabulous experience. Taking care to cater for all levels of play in the party and pushing us all to improve, it’s a great way to get your tennis mojo working.read more
I’m just back from my first holiday with Active Away - tennis in Corfu. The holiday was recommended by a friend of... mine, who was going on it with her mum for the last 14 years. I’m currently single, 37 years old, I love tennis but also some alone time, reading a book on a beach. I wanted luxury holiday that will make me forget the stress of this year. I got much more than that!
While we did play tennis quite a bit (9:30am - 11:30am and again 4:30pm - 6:30pm), we had afternoons for ourselves - for resting at the beach or at the pool. Because I chose an all-inclusive location, the group ate together and bond together very well in just over one week. The credit for that goes to the Active Way team who made sure that there is enough banter and interaction between members of the group. You could see that their main goal was to make everyone feel inclusive and have some fun! They encouraged connection and introductions by pairing you up in different doubles games and by sitting at the breakfast/lunch/dinner tables during meals and facilitating the discussion, until you relax and join in. I can see how you can get hooked on these little breaks. Everything was 5 star - company, tennis (daily tennis practice + games), resort, staff at the hotel, facilities... it was just a dream and a fabulous place to recharge your batteries. Cannot recommend them enough.read more
The holiday was fabulous. Learnt a lot of tennis from truly top drawer tennis coaches, focused on the doubles game.... They provide a first class tennis holiday in the sun and anyone going alone will quickly feel very welcomed and be having a great time amongst friends.read more
I have attended 3 Active Away one-day clinics now and have loved every minute of it. The coaches are brilliant. They... have a wealth of experience and are oozing enthusiasm. My net play has noticeably improved, as has my doubles game. My doubles partner also attends the clinics with me and we've now started winning consistently against players that previously walked all over us. The great thing is that each clinic has something new to offer so it's not a case of doing the same drills every time. I am yet to try one of the holidays but if they're anything like the one day clinics then I'm sure I won't be disappointed.read more
Had a very enjoyable and informative day at the Active Away tennis clinic. I'm looking forward to using the new skills... at my club. The Active Away guys were very good and explained clearly tactics to improve doubles play. Nice facility too, inside courts and a nice friendly bunch of participants. Thanks to everyone involved.read more
This was a fantastic clinic. Not only are all of the coaches welcoming, encouraging and fun but extremely professional... and gave great technically appropriate advice. The doubles tactics were invaluable. The standard of the other participants was similar but well managed nonetheless. I can recommend Active Away to anyone wanting to hone their doubles’ performance. We also got some 1-2-1 feedback on our serves which is always necessary. I will book again.read more
Just back from our 4th Active Away holiday. As ever we were in an amazing resort and had some fantastic tennis with... world class coaches. These guys really know how to do it. I’d highly recommend Active Away holidays for anyone travelling on their own or as a group. Fully hosted optional evening meals and entertainment is a fantastic way to relax in the evening after a hard days tennis. Thanks Josh, Jake, Matty and Rich - you are all class!!!! I’m already planning my next trip. Xxread more
We just came back from a week tennis holiday in Greece with Active Away. We had a fantastic time. Great coaching, great... tennis, great hospitality and the most passionate and friendly team you can ever hope for. The tennis coaching is extremely high quality but the experience is a lot more than just tennis. Matt, Josh and the rest of the team will make sure you get the best of everything from the moment you land to the moment you take-off. We will join them again for sure. Big thanks from all our family.read more
If you're after a Tennis Holiday, there's no better than Active Away. Their fully hosted set up means that you're part... of a group from the outset, so whether you're on your own or with your partner or friends, it really adds to the experience. I've visited three of their resorts and all of them are fabulous in their own way. The main difference with Active Away is that the coaching is meaningful. The coaches really care about improving your game and aren't just there to doss; Whatever your level, you'll come away a better player and have a great time to boot.read more
