Rome’s nightlife starts late…
It is not unusual for locals to meet up for dinner around 9. 30 or even 10. Rome is unique when it comes to nightlife and entertainment. It is different from any other capital in the world, yes there are surely loads of bars, pubs & clubs spread all over the city but the best way to enjoy the culture, vibe and spirit of the city is outdoor.
As the weather is mild here for most part of the year, every square turns often into a big outdoor bar. The locals love their evening ”passeggiata” (slow walk through the old town), strolling around the cobble stoned streets, sipping a beer while chatting with friends

Really excellent tennis coaching at a beautiful resort. Josh, Steve, Matt, Sean and Dan put us through our paces and ensured that everyone on the course at whatever level took away something to improve their game. Very sociable and friendly group. Hotel clean and staff attentive and friendly, only drawback was cuisine which was rather lacking in imagination.read more
Another wonderful holiday with Active Away, this time in Croatia. The tennis was fantastic, & the coaching was second to none! All the coaches gave their all, both on & off the court, making sure we all had the best possible time. The location was stunning... the tennis was great & the company was the best! Thanks Active Away... here’s to the next time! 🎾🌟🎾🌟🎾read more
Active Away really do run the best tennis holidays.
I’ve been joining them, in different resorts and locations for 10 years now and they just get better and better.
The quality of coaching is superb and each coach works hard to ensure everyone there gets what they want from the holiday both on and off court.
The holidays are very sociable, so going solo doesn’t feel too intimidating as you are always included .
I’m looking forward to choosing my next holiday with them.read more
Another fabulous holiday with Active Away in Crete. A great tennis program with excellent coaches, who go out of their way both on and off the court to make your holiday special. Both the tennis and the social side is well looked after, you come home having met old and made new friends and lots of great memories. The only tennis holiday to go on!read more
Just back from a fabulous week in Crete with the Active Away team. Already thinking about my next holiday! Fantastic resort, with an amazing tennis centre. The team provide top draw coaching for beginners through to advanced players, there is always something new to learn. After the tennis, the social side is just the icing on the cake with new friends being made and our next holidays being planned together! I would recommend to everyone, memories last a lifetime.read more
What an amazing holiday!
A small group of players from our tennis club went along to Lyttos Beach for our first Active Away holiday, not quite knowing what to expect, but we were made to feel so welcome and involved. The coaching team were a perfect mix of professional and sociable. What a friendly, approachable bunch of guys! You could really tell that it meant a lot to them that you enjoyed yourself, they seemed to bring the best out in all the holiday goers, which created a real feel-good mood for the entire week and I came away from it feeling like I had taken so much from it as a tennis player too.
Our host, Josh, was fantastic; clearly a VERY good tennis player and coach, but so humble and down to Earth with it too. He was great at talking to large groups and made it feel like you were never under pressure to do anything on the itinerary, but it was so well put together and so much fun that you'd always want to and it felt like he would be happy to go out of his way to make your holiday that extra bit better for you if he could.
The resort itself was really lovely. Beautiful setting, loads of courts of different surfaces. The food was really great (especially for an all inclusive set-up) and the drinks were plentiful!
I thought it was great value for money, given the quality of the coaching and facilities and for how enjoyable the whole experience was. My only hope is that our next one will be this good, because it's certainly going to be hard to top!read more
I have just returned from my very first tennis holiday and had an absolutely brilliant time. I was somewhat apprehensive beforehand as I didn’t know what to expect, but I needn’t have worried. Josh and his team of coaches were so patient and enthusiastic and such experts in coaching every aspect of tennis. I would highly recommend and encourage anyone who is thinking about venturing on an Active Away tennis holiday to go for it. It’s such an all round fun and exhilarating holiday!read more
We just came back from a week tennis holiday in Greece with Active Away. We had a fantastic time. Great coaching, great tennis, great hospitality and the most passionate and friendly team you can ever hope for. The tennis coaching is extremely high quality but the experience is a lot more than just tennis. Matt, Josh and the rest of the team will make sure you get the best of everything from the moment you land to the moment you take-off. We will join them again for sure. Big thanks from all our family.read more
